O yea, Orange Caligula is rattled.  For some reason being called weird really bothers him. Perhaps in his distant past he was called that. Trumple-thin-skin is a malignant narcissist.  Donny Dipshit is a racist, and a misogynist. A black woman is not acceptable. Unlike most psychopaths with his personality disorder, Don the Con is really stupid. Orange Cheato is vindictive. The melted circus peanut is a sadist. Cadet Spanky Bonespurs has dementia. The Devil's protege expects center ring in the circus always. Attention to him has been diverted. Perhaps, he is entering a mental death spiral. Trump is a psychopath, and hates being mocked.

Monday begins the Democratic Convention in the Chicago Lands. It is going to be unique.  A sitting president, Joseph Biden, who easily won all the primaries, will not be nominated. He deserves to be president for four more years. He really earned it. Instead, he succumbed to electoral pressure and abdicated. Biden sacrificed the position of the presidency, so that the party would have an easier time winning against anti-democratic forces.

Biden deferred to his vice-president, Kamala Harris. She will be the first of several demographics to claim the presidency. She quickly won support from the entire party. She kindled interest from outside the party. Harris was something new for the press, and at first they were welcoming.

The first question was who will the new vice-president be? Tim Walz was a most excellent choice. The man is very congenial, He has a good history: teacher, coach, soldier, congressman, governor. The contrast to the weird billet the Repukes have chosen is remarkable.  Walz, more than anyone else, found the magic word to rattle the fascist opponents. 'Weird' is accurate, understated, non-aggressive, humourous , and dismissive. Harris and Walz are happy, they laugh, they act like humans. This is beyond annoying to the Republicans. Trump and Vance are malevolent frauds.

Erich Fromm's, The Heart of Man: Its Genius for Good and Evil, 1964, Fromm used the term “malignant narcissism.” That defines Trump.

The more he tries to be a god, the more he isolates himself from the human race; this isolation makes him more frightened, everybody becomes his enemy, and in order to stand the resulting fright he has to increase his power, his ruthlessness, and his narcissism.”

John Gartner has for several years tried to focus America on this.

This is already a bit long. Bandy X. Lee is a psychiatrist also. In 2017 she edited The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump. She has spoken to many in Congress of the danger of Trump and his insanity. Lee taught at Yale School of Medicine and Yale Law School from 2003 through 2020.

In 1964 Goldwater ran for president, and was widely thought crazy. So a “Goldwater Rule” came about. Thou shant call someone that is crazy “crazy”, if  you have not personally examined the crazy person. Yale invoked it upon her over both Trump, and the vile Alan Dershowitz. Yale is acting against academic freedom, and probably is in league with supporters of Trump.

WEIRD

Weird, what is weird? Generally it is either creepy, kooky, spooky. In Shakespeare's MacBeth, the Weird Sisters are the ones cooking horrible things in a cauldron, performing maga, ahh magic.

When someone sees something odd, they may say quizzically “that's weird”.  When someone does something silly, or odd, one might say dismissively, “you are weird”. In popular culture we have Weird Al Yankovic, and Weird Barbie from a movie. Yankovic is a musician who creates parody and novelty songs, his weirdness is benign, and entertaining. Weird Barbie was the toy Barbie that was roughly played with, and in the movie became an eccentric, but perceptive outcast in Barbie World.

Republican weird is the strange, outlandish, eerie, horrific, unnatural creepy kind. The kind that makes you feel icky, uncomfortable, it is unpleasant, and is offensive.

Kamala Harris is so much better as a candidate now than four years ago. In a a campaign statement she has “Trump is old and quite weird”.  Trump mocked her as laughing too much. Trump never laughs, he has no humour. What he has is spite, malice, and viciousness in its place. If he smiles, it is a false one, or a gloat taking evil enjoyment. Why the absence, or antipathy to laughter and genuine smiling?  Laughing can be happy, or mocking, or recognising some truth. Look at trump on film and fotos: he looks angry, goofy, or false.

Harris has picked up on the weirdness. I read that Tim Walz (Gov. Minn.) was the first one to repeatedly mention it. Since the Orange Weirdo kept mentioning a fictive serial killer in speeches, it was not understood whether he thought Hannibal Lector was real. Oh, and the shark fixation, killer windmills, and a slew of other weird things that are part of his act. Do not forget, the hair, and orange paint.

The Repukes are full of weirdness. And they don't like being called on it. They always were putting out that Democrats were some horrible other, not like normal Americans. The lie was/is that Republicans are normal. They are creepy weird.  For many years, my phrasing to describe them was that they are crazier than outhouse rats. But weird is the winner. The kind of weird people warn others, when they say ominously, “stay away from him, he's weird”.

Trump, well you know.  Vance is weird toooo. He has lived through disguise. He is weird. He is a falsity. He is queer. The eyeliner, and wanting to police menstrual cycles is very creepy weird. As a whole, Republicans are abnormally fixated on everyone else's crotch.

Vance has only been Vance for some eleven years. He was born James Donald Bowman, he was then James David Hamel, and is now JD Vance.  He came to fame by writing a fictive memoir. He was born and lived in a town between Cincinnati and Dayton. In the book, he made constant reference to the bad stereotype of eastern Kentucky culture. He went to the Marines, Ohio State, Yale Law, married a Hindu, became a vulture capitalist in San Francisco, and presents himself as a hillbilly. That's alright, Trump presented himself as a Swede for years.

Certainly, i could not watch the trash political carnival sideshow in Wisconsin. But i did see some press coverage. The United States press has been terrible.  Dan Rather, my dear God, he was and is great. The system in place has made sure that no one will try to be another one. Of a country of 300 millions, certainly many could approach his craft and integrity.  That is not permitted. It is ratings, and corporate profit. Those who receive the profit are moneyed interests, and are deeply interested in their finances. All the big boys who control the industry are so driven. Some are pure evil fascists, some just worship Mammon. Either way they are a threat to America. It is not that the press is the enemy of the people like Herr Hitler, and Herr Trump maintain. A free press with integrity does a national service. The owners of the press are the enemies of the people.

Trump is not a showman. He is a cheesy barker. On the final day of the tent show, Donnie Dipshit comes on the stage (not rostrum, not podium), and there were huge lights spelling his last name; sort of like a Las Vegas celebrity's teevee special.

What is a carnival without side show freaks?

Someone made this comparative composite supra. Matt Gaetz is a reprobate. He is despised by his fellow repuke congress critters. He loves to grandstand. Sometime before his speaking slot, he had a new face put on. Kimberley Guilfoyle once was simply attractive. Now she has become donny junior's whore, she is a freak. Mugshot of the don of the criminal family, and another ass with an ear kotex.

Mostly the whole show was unending mendacity from all of its participants. As i wrote, i could not watch such animated garbage; but i wonder how probing, and skeptical the press had been. An honest press would have eviscerated and ridiculed the idiot bacchanal.

There were clowns a plenty. A former professional wrestler wore a version of his stage costume, and ripped his tee shirt apart. Is that something that Everett Dirksen would have done? There were at least two owners of such gladiatoresque entertainment franchises that spoke. Was it to show Cadet Bonespurs fighting spirit?

I read there were these billboards in the city. Was this shown on teevee? I can see that the resultant ticket is very pleasing to Vladimir Vladimirovič Putin.

Where the press has been the worst is the campaign, a press coup, to remove Joseph Biden from the presidency. That event in Atlanta, Trump was a machine gun of lies. The press was not interested. The job of a reporter is to search, and present the truth. Here are the real issues:

• Biden has achieved much against great resistance from the opposing party and economic power structure.
• NATO needs America under sanity, Biden.
• Putin must not be successful in interfering in American affairs. Putin is a threat to the world.
• Trump is both criminal, and insane. He is a narcissistic psychopath. Unlike most psychopaths, he is fundamentally ignorant and stupid.  He is a danger to the world.
• The Republican Agenda crafted by the Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, and rogue billionaires want to destroy the rule of law, and the spirit of American promise of freedom that has been appealing to civilisation, in order to install a corrupt oligarchy.

Mid to late January is often enough times the coldest time of the year. No big news bulletin. It is not pleasant to be outside, and for those who can stay inside, it is a good choice. I haven't posted in a few days, and my mind wanders through subjects, some minor, some major.

I see in language differences, some people are surprised that 'bakery' can be synonymous with pastry, or any non bread item that comes from a bakery. We have heard on the media, for years, 'barbecue' used this way. "Hey, Melinda Sue, let's go get some barbecue". There was some other language thing that someone had a snit about, and i have forgotten what it was...well, maybe one day it will pop up in my mind while in the shower.

Something is rotten with the American people. Donald Trump is undeniably evil, yet he is worshipped by millions. Psychiatrists diagnose him as a malignant narcissist with dementia. Someone so incompetent, stupid, and sadistic to be successful as he was in receiving such great political power must be allied with demonic forces. Of course, many psychiatrists have no belief in the supernatural; but logical cause and effect can not explain Orange Caligula. Those in his thrall love the cruelty, even if it destroys themselves. In Iowa he told his worshippers, "You can't sit home. If you're sick as a dog, you say: 'God, I gotta make it.' Even if you vote and then pass away, it's worth it". He also told the trumpster stupids, "And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning...". Well, the original Caligula said, "Would that the Roman people had but one neck!"...so he could strangle, break it, or cut it off. Now, Trumple-thin-skin is repeatedly mentioning Al Capone being murderous if one looked at him wrongly.

Vanishing America,

Another tale of vanishing America, never been to Atlanta. This was once on the County Dept of Health. The building is gone, Emory U and Grady Hospital wanted the space.* Harris was an architectural sculptor, and a graduate, and later a professor at Georgia Tech. He had several commissions for public buildings in Georgia. Harris had been an army officer, and the US Army has Hermes' caduceus as the symbol for the medical corps. This was an error, but it can now be looked at as satire/sarcasm. Hermes was a god of commerce. Asclepius was the god of healing, and he carried a staff with one snake, the aesculapion. Some physicians and health workers found this image apropos in the struggle against covid-19.

Neon signs were common and popular for a generation in America, from the mid to late 1920s to the end of the 1950s. Interests change, and things become passé. Nostalgia rolls in, and curios become dear to compilers. There are neon sign museums in Cincinnati, Las Vegas, Warsaw, Canada, and elsewhere. God’s Own Junkyard sells and rents them in London. 

 

The signs began with the work of a scientist inventor, Georges Claude in 1902. He later became a very willing nazi collaborator.

Looking at fotos from the Cincinnati museum, i noticed two signs from churches: a Baptist, and a Pentecostalist; and i thought, well yeah. When looking at American religious denominations, there they are: déclassé, and gauche. This American Protestantism gloms on to whatever is current in the larger society. They purposely appeal to the lowest common denominator, any hook will be fished. Most neon signs were used for commercial purposes: restaurants, saloons, and such.

Then i remembered. We often are vexed at things we have done ourselves. Around 1995, another fellow and myself were caught in a foto published by Cleveland Plain Dealer. We were on a steeple removing neon lights about the cross, it needed regassing. Years before, during WWII, the original church burned down. Malachi's could be seen from the lake, and i heard that its steeple was used as a landmark. When the new church was built after the war, the cross was meant to be seen from the lake. I do not know when the original installation of the light was. Back to the picture, i was suspicious about the photographer. The sky was beginning to look ominous, and dumdum had an aluminum ladder. This was the time when OSHA was made to be a bogeyman. I made sure my back was to the camera.

I remember once in the twentieth century an OSHA man came to construction at the new baseball park, and once to a hospital building going up. Foremen were only worried about extension outlets. There was a job in Beachwood, where i was working for a replacement contractor. Every other trade was scab, some from out of state. They were hiring off the streets. It was a very unsafe job site. One day we were working, and we noticed all the other trades were gone from the building. We saw them standing in the parking lot. OSHA was on site. They can't cite you, when you are not working. Me and another journeyman showed the guy around, and pointing out hazards. All he did was put caution tape around the porta potty. Some miscreant shat in the pisser portion, and gravel was strewn about. That didn't effect me, i went to a nearby fast food joint anyway. I quit that job, the shop was full of creeps. I never saw OSHA in this century.

Well, many churches had sign boards, before and after some started using neon. Now with led and plasma screens that can be programmed, many churches of all denominations have lighted electrified signs.

Growing up Catholic, i understood the Devil doesn't like to be mocked, therefore, he must be mocked. Very early in the Trump régime, his chief spokes liar Spicy Sean was subjected to ridicule, which led to his dismissal. SatNiteLive had Melissa McCarthy parody him, it was most excellent. I read this upset Donnie McPervert, in that a woman mocked his underling. My reaction, as others did think, they should have had Rosie O'Donnell play Trumple-thin-skin. They actually had a brilliant mini-film with Leslie Jones. Then they dropped the ball. So often, SatNiteLive lets the crop wither in the field, and then offers crap instead. Leslie Jones should have had the rôle permanently.

Someone posted a chat about what prison would be appropriate for Orange Caligula. My answer was Arkham Asylum. Cheatolini as a super villain. That treasonous shitgibbon would make a proper villainous inmate at Elizabeth Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane. Though, it has been noted, they have many escapees; but Stinky from Merde a Lardo is not too nimble of foot. He would need help. The rest of Batman's rogues probably would be sick of him. He is insufferable.

 I was reading a chat board on line. The post was: "Evangelical" appears to be a synonym for "hypocrite." I replied, "no shit! i could elaborate on this, but people will be upset...".  Someone replied to me, "Please elaborate".  It took a while to organise some thoughts:

There are five main doctrines of Calvinism. Three of them (Unconditional Election, Irresistible Grace, Perseverance of the Saints) allow for total depravity (which is the first of the five). The three together say God alone chooses you, and gives you grace which cannot be undone. You are special, and can do anything without consequences. You have absolute license, shame and hypocrisy do not apply, ethics and morality are moot. As applied to the United States this becomes Manifest Destiny, and American exceptionalism. Being Protestants, they base this on 'sola scriptura', it is bible based fully and alone. The big problem with this is selective interpretation. An isolated quote is paired with other isolated quotes, and by illogic of unrelated premises any squirrelly conclusion is made. Someone not in the sect/cult looks at this and is astonished by the nonsense.

Calvinists are not alone in this sort of magical thinking. There is no one Calvinistic church, many of these call themselves 'Reformed', and they are individual by nation. The Scottish Reformed churches are the various Presbyterians, additionally many of the Baptist sects are calvinistic.

Now, the Pentecostal churches, some calling themselves 'Charismatic', are prone to private revelation to create new doctrines. One movement within them is having recent political influence, New Apostolic Reformation. Their beliefs are restorationist, dominionist, and Christofascist. Some of the latter overlaps with Seven Mountains Dominionism, which takes a sentence from Revelation, and another from the Prophets, and creates a political fantasy. Some within the Evangelicals (Baptists), and Pentecostalists follow this. What names are associated with this?, Rafael Cruz, and his son Rafael (Ted) Junior, Lauren Bobert, Paula White (Trump's spiritual advisor [guffaw, cough, guffaw] Paula White, and other wacko Trumpster preachers (including: Lance Wallnau, Julie Green). The new House Speaker [currently Mike Johnson] is rumoured to be in this group. They all talk of prophecy, anointing, and being ordained, and spiritual warfare.

That last paragraph was full of insanity. Restorationists (e.g. Joseph Smith who invented Mormonism and was running for US President, John Nelson Darby who invented 'the Rapture') believe all other churches are false from the beginning, they create their religion and say this was the original religion under Jesus and his first apostles. Dominionists believe their ideology ought to rule the country/world; that is a short hop to Christofascism. Many of these have self proclaimed prophets, and these prophets expect to be obeyed. Trumpsterism, Qanon fantasies, blend or duplicate these inanities and insanities. Of course, some of these are just charlatans, scoundrels, conmen, and grifters.

republican speak: free speech = lies, and hate speech

The convenient fallacy of journalists getting along is “both siderism”.  For the newsman it is job security. For the simple minded, and the partisan who does not want to admit the depth of his partisanship, it is an excuse to dismiss uncomfortable truths, by insisting all politicians lie.  Often there are just two sides: truth versus lies. This is advantageous for the lying side. It achieves equal ground, it does not deserve. Lie should be disqualified.

There are certain people if lies were extricated from their speech, their speech would be less than a strict Trappist. donald trump is a liar, but occasionally when it benefits him, or when it works as a brag, there comes a true statement. Orange Caligula referred to Calgary Alberta's Rafael Cruz as “Lyin' Ted Cruz”. There he was exactly correct, for Cruz twists every sentence. I wonder if Cruz was bathed in oil sands, the greasy smarminess would be as thick as La Brea tar.

Spanky Bonespurs is famous for saying, “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?”.  His con man mendacity is accepted as gospel by trumpsters. His hubris of braggadocio transgression was said in certainty.  But the spew of lies are egregious, continuous, and virtually infinite. His successful campaign in 2015 began with, “[Mexico] are sending people that have lots of problems, and they are bringing those problems to us. They are bringing drugs, and bringing crime, and their rapists.”.  Hate and lies.

The press aids and abets. There are certain Republicans that always lie, and rarely get called on it: Reince Priebus, Schlapp, Scalise, Kellyanne Conway, and nearly anyone who is given the microphone to speak the Repuke side. And they are aggressive in falsity, hypocrisy and ridiculousness are not avoided.  One reason is that if they were to speak the truth, it would turn away supporters. Another reason is that to advance in the party, ethics would hinder, perhaps forbid. The mainstream media's management and ownership are compromised, they have financial interests they cater to, and many agree with those interests. They also know the repukes cry often, and attack the press, and withhold access. This is effective pressure [blackmail] to have the media bend to them. In addition, the repukes, fascists, economic royalists, ultraconservatives have their shadow media, and they are willing to take a hit to get their propaganda out there. It is always power and money over conscience and truth. What is truth to be valued? What is a conscience?

It is good, and still too infrequent, that some of the press calls the trumpster election lies—“the big lie”. Those lies have seen success, and are part of the repuke brand and campaigns.

One current battle in this war is Twitter. A psychopath, repuke, billionaire wants to control a social media outlet. A number of lying, and hateful deplorables were banned for the damage they did to the public, and the country in their hate, lies, and sedition. Musk has welcomed them back. What gets one banned is to criticise him.

The Democrats do not want to state the obvious. Money does not have a distaste for fascism. Perhaps, a plurality of votes wins elections. There is a segment of the population, whose support you will never receive; it is foolhardy, nay, it is stupid to consider and court them. Hillary Clinton was clear, and correct, about the deplorables.

e.g. Unfortunately, Ohio is a Republican controlled state, with a smallish majority of Repuke voters. Tim Ryan is running for US senator against JD Vance (or what ever alias he is currently using). Ryan is courting the deplorables in advertisements, noting where he has agreed with Trump, and speaking of the mistakes of Democrats (and those were when some Democrats went along with Republicans). He also, in another commercial smartly went after Vance with the words of Vance.

January 6th 2021 was the date of a failed putsch. Many Republican officeholders were part of it. Such membership is an act of treason. Other Repukes, who were not active in the sedition and treachery, are fine with it. A minuscule number are against it.

Republicans often, and easily, without hesitation or qualms smear Democrats with what Bill Barr would call "bullshit". Democrats ought to refer everywhere to the Republican Party as the the party of Fascism and Treason. To quote Albert Camus, "One leader, one people, signifies one master and millions of slaves.".

Before, the Democrats would refer to their party as "the Democracy". It was stupid to have stopped. In this country, we are engaged in a contest between democracy and fascism. This should be said frequently, and then again.

Now, that remark sounded familiar to me, i am not sure if the writer came up with it, or repeated a folk saying. It is a true statement.

Now, Trump is a criminal, a psychopath, a man with very limited intellect and no morals(we could go on...every horrible thing that he has been accused of, he has probably done, and others that have not come to light), and yet — he escapes, skates away, pays no penalty, accepts no blame, is not forced to comply. Trump does not have the brains. The luck? He has bankrupted his casinos, and emerged time and again? Dostojevskij wrote a novelette, The Gambler. It is a study in psychology. He writes of strings of luck (or fate, i am not going to get the book out now). Roulette was the game, there are 18 red slots, 18 black slots, and 2 green slots. One can bet several times on red showing up consecutively, but it will eventually come up black or green.

Trump is both stupid, and evil. How come he can not lose? I believe he is under special protection by the Devil.

Gang of Putin

I believe we are dealing with several inter-related matters, all part of Evil. Psychopaths want power. With that power they want to aggrandise themselves. They either do not care, or enjoy the suffering they impart, certainly they delight in the havoc.

Putin and Trump are both evil, and insane. Putin is intelligent, Trump is stupid. Putin achieved his power by working through the system. Trump is an incompetent, that was born to an evil rich man. Both lie to accomplish their desires. Putin is aggressive, but strategic in his lies. Trump will lie about anything, small or great. Trump is a conman, a grifter.

The Republican Party is greedy, and relentless, and without decency. They are fascists. They want to be a privileged class, and they want to oppress people. They have a sprawling network of misinformaton, besides the official party propaganda, and the whisper campaign, they have the entire so called "right wing media" [which includes Rupert Murdoch's empire, shitty outlets financed by sociopathic millionaires, and billionaires. mouthfoamers on the radio who gull people in pursuit of filthy lucre, and to achieve self importance].

Near the end of Solzhenitsyn's Nobel speech: Let us not forget that violence does not and cannot flourish by itself; it is inevitably intertwined with LYING. ...Whoever has once announced violence as his METHOD must inexorably choose lying as his PRINCIPLE. ...usually it demands of its victims only allegiance to the lie, only complicity in the lie.

Ronny Jackson was a navy physician assigned to the White House. He became known publicly, when he in January 2018, claimed Trump was 6'3" and 239 pounds. It was obvious that that was false. Also, at the time it was widely publicly spoken of [and known] Trump as mentally impaired. Jackson said that Trump had a perfect score on a  test (Montreal Cognitive Assessment)* to gauge dementia. For his reward, Trump nominated him for a cabinet position. News came that Jackson indulged in beyond normal intake of alcohol and drugs. Jackson also was called a "candy man" with prescriptions. 

Department of Defense Office of Inspector General investigated Jackson. Trump stalled the investigation. Jackson's behaviour was wretched in many ways. His use of recreational chemicals spurred unbecoming actions. His behaviour, especially towards women, was bullying and piggish. Of course, Trump approved all of these things about Jackson. And above all Jackson wanted to be a Trump minion.

Now, Jackson is a congressman in Texas. He wrote a letter demanding President Biden submit for mental evaluation. Thirteen other deplorable, magat congressmen co-signed. Yes, they do project.

Jackson is also one of the fourteen Repukes voting against the Juneteenth holiday. He is one of two in both groups. Jackson is not ashamed to be considered a racist.

Jackson is against the prophylaxis of mask wearing. Jackson is a physician, but allegiance to Trump supersedes Hippocrates.  Dr. Fauci is not a trumpster. Jackson, and other such Repukes hate Fauci. They participate, and foment a campaign against Fauci.  Why is Fauci so marked? Fauci is a diligent public servant, a doctor that follows science, but most of all--Fauci will not lie for Trump. Relentless. Trumpsters are relentless. They are unyielding, impervious, and invincibly ignorant. They are also demented, and seems incurable.

Republican speak: election integrity = voter suppression

Republicans are against Democracy. They can only win by cheating, they will not say this in public clearly. So they create diversions, subterfuges, fictions, and bald faced lies to trick people. They want a reduced pool of voters. They want to select their voters. In a democracy voters select politicians.

Failed Insurrection

Ellsberg is a religious writer with a sharp wit. He has been poking T**** in a continuing series of #TolstoysTalesofTrump. Orange Nero at his insurrectionist rally sent off his minions to attack Congress. He said, he would go with them. T**** watched the event unfold on television instead.

There was this fellow in Germany who led a failed putsch, in prison he dictated a book which his secretary wrote down. The book was titled, „Mein Kampf”; T**** used to keep a copy by his bed. Here are the covers from Germany's leading news MAGAzines.

Some of the motley mob were clowns, as is their god T****.  Others were domestic terrorists, some with military, and police training.

No one should have been surprised. In T****'s insane, inauguration speech, he read the words “American carnage”, and other fanatical, dystopic, bulls**t.

People pointed out how poorly defended the Capitol was, as compared to when Black Lives Matter marched. This photograph was pulled out of the memory files of unidentified forces standing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Other people remarked on how Capitol Police arrested peaceful protestors on many occasions, but arrested so few in the failed coup attempt. Religious people of conviction were especially easy to take into custody.

Fiona Hill was Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European and Russian Affairs. She left before Orange Caligula's telephone call to the President of the Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelinsky.  She did speak candidly and bravely at the impeachment hearing. Fiona Hill spoke to The Daily Beast about January 6th's events: 

“The president was trying to stage a coup. There was little chance of it happening, but there was enough chance that the former defense secretaries had to put out that letter, which was the final nail through that effort. They prevented the military from being involved in any coup attempt. But instead, Trump tried to incite it himself, this could have turned into a full-blown coup had he had any of those key institutions following him. Just because it failed or didn’t succeed doesn’t mean it wasn’t real.”

Fr. James Martin, SJ wrote: 

“Today's violence at the US Capitol, a national disgrace, is the inevitable result of the endless lies about the election spread by President Trump and his supporters.  Here we see the result of these lies, the fruit of sin: anger, hatred, discord, despair and violence. This is what sin does, especially sin on such a large scale.” 
“And by their fruits you will know them” (Mt 7:20).

Some leaders (meaning d/Democrats) took action, in order to stave off more treason, violence, and danger.

"It's rigged", was a continual cry of Trump. He threatened not to accept the results if he lost. The election happened, Hillary Clinton received more votes, Trump won. Yes, it was rigged by the electoral college, a non-democratic constitutional creation. Russian computer vandals aided Trump's campaign. The coup de grâce was FBI director James Comey creating a scandal out of nothing directed at Hillary Clinton. There has been no great cry that the Russians were involved. It is reported, that, Trump believed on election night he was to lose.

Trump is a fascist buffoon, a man of malignant narcissism. He must win every point, or becomes unhinged. He wants to be fêted. His people begged for top flight entertainers for his inauguration; they could not even get deep into the country-western types that overlap with his voter base. All they could get was Toby Keith, Lee Greenwood, and a one hit wonder rock band from Mississippi. Then Trump, realising he lost the popular vote by nearly three million, invented a voter fraud scheme which no one has even shown invented evidence.

But he did become president. His cabinet picks are deplorables. Some individuals, such as Pruitt for Environmental Protection are enemies to their assigned realms; Puzder is the anti-thesis of a friend to the working man. Trump's choice for Labor, Puzder, shows an extreme class hatred. Trump's White House advisors are extreme liars, and Bannon is a prominent fascist.

As soon as Trump was ensconced in office, the memory hole became active. Websites were made to hold the new party line. Science was going to be nullified. Resistance did come, and from who? From park rangers. They began alternative government twitter accounts where accurate and truthful statements would be posted, and with this followed parody sites. Parody, and sarcasm were the vehicles to present truth to the public. Trump made twitter a conduit to directly subvert the press, so as to get his version unblocked by probing questions of reality. Twitter (a social electronic media similar to telegraphy) was also available to the public to tweet back.

Part of Trump's anger at the National Parks was that they did not provide propaganda for his inaugural crowd numbers. Trump's crowd was a small fraction of Obama's; and the next day the Washington Women's March exceeded his inaugural, and there were such marches across the US and elsewhere.

I was deeply depressed the day [November 9th] after the election. I had watched the returns the night before. I fully expected a Democratic victory. I had champagne, i would need it anyway. I saw Florida fall, and got worse. It was if i was hit full on in the chest. I was going to post my thoughts then, but couldn't; and then, as the title suggests, a few weeks later, and still could not. I was right when i thought the Republican Party would be split with the teabaggers, but it was not a break. The teabaggers got Trump, and Trump absorbed the rest of the party. Now, i am chastened, the future is not mine to predict.

To-day, General Flynn resigned as National Security Advisor since the evidence is overwhelming he is the third Trumpster (Paul Manafort, Carter Page) compromised by the Russians. Hillary Clinton was right again, Trump is Putin's puppet. Gerald Ford once said, "An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be". Dan Rather, to-day, likened the current news having similarity to Watergate.

When the demonic clown car of Republican candidates was bursting, i saw some note of British bookies with odds on Romney as the nominee. Recently, Romney has become the leader of the stop Trump movement. Now, there is the 'white horse prophecy' in Mormon lore, which has the country (or Constitution) 'hanging by a thread' and is saved by a Mormon hero. Perhaps this was in people's minds in the last election, but maybe it is in Romney's mind now; whether it will be Romney as the nominee, or Romney as the knight that slays the Donald.

The Donald in his 'shtick' has doubted other candidates' religion*:

• "I love Iowa. And, look, I don't have to say it, I'm Presbyterian. Can you believe it? Nobody believes I'm Presbyterian. I'm Presbyterian. I'm Presbyterian. I'm Presbyterian. Boy, that's down the middle of the road folks, in all fairness. I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don't know about. I just don't know about." Carson is a Seventh Day Adventist, and it is one of the major non-christian Protestant cults spawned in America.
• "Just remember this -- you gotta remember, in all fairness, to the best of my knowledge, not too many evangelicals come out of Cuba, okay?" The normative religion of all Latin America is Catholicism. Protestant proselytism has been very successful. Cruz's father is a televangelist of a demented sort of restoration and dominion, wherein they are the only heirs of all that is in the world.
• “I have many friends that live in Salt Lake. I have a lot of friends, I have a lot of friends. By the way, Mitt Romney is not one of them. Did he choke? Did this guy choke? He’s a choke artist, I can’t believe. Are you sure he’s a Mormon? Are we sure?” Saying this in Mormon country is not advantageous, and a gentile attacking a king Mormon over his authenticity as a Mormon is ridiculous.

Trump is way ahead, and has always been ahead of this pack. He realises there is a 'stop Trump' movement, but it is too little and too late. To have been effective it would have had to started immediately and go full bore, as the way Miss McConnell did to Ashley Judd. McConnell did not wait for Scalia's corpse to get cold, before he began sabotaging Obama over the Supreme Court. The Republicans began their sabotaging of Obama's presidency the day after his initial election.

"I think we’ll win before getting to the convention, but I can tell you, if we didn’t and if we’re 20 votes short or if we’re, you know, 100 short and we’re at 1,100 and somebody else is at 500 or 400, because we’re way ahead of everybody, I don’t think you can say that we don’t get it automatically. I think you would have riots. I think you would have riots. … I think you would see problems like you’ve never seen before. I think bad things would happen. I really do. I wouldn’t lead it, but I think bad things would happen."

Trump is highly reactive. He will not allow a feint go unchallenged. He will have the last word. He has used the old mafioso protectionist trick of using a possible prediction of misfortune for a threat. He just did not sell it as his usual product,"These riots will be yuuuuuge. They will be the best riots ever."

Hey, most of Trump's ideas, protocol, plans, and arguments are the typical brand of Republican fascism we have had for years. It is just not boilerplate. It is delivered in Trump's style. It is seen as crass, or too self-evident by the powers that be.

The last gambit of the establishment is a brokered convention. But the convention in Cleveland will take the line from Shakespeare's Tempest, “Hell is empty and all the devils are here”.

can the donald be stopped?

On this journal i wrote on the 4th of January 2012 [click]:

• in 2012 Obama defeating Romney, Ron Paul may also lead a ticket but not the Republican;
• in 2016 the usual Republican nominee formula probably becomes meaningless, because that individual is unelectable;
• in 2016 Democrat somebody beats Republican somebody;
• if the Republican party does not split by 2016, it may by 2020 if it has not achieved sanity.
• in 2020 the Democratic incumbent will face competition from a main anti-Democratic party, which will be named __________ [TBA].

Why? Last night, Peggy Noonan and CBS suggest a 'great party' is being disintegrated; but they are talking about the Republican party. Lincoln's long gone. In that essay, i also wrote "Now, the Republican party, and its most fervent followers, are not a normal political party. They are both crazy, and fascist. They have passed the point of sanity into madness."..."The Republican party is not a conservative party. Republicans complain that Romney is not 'conservative'. They have changed the meaning. 'Conservative' is now a form of insanity." "

Trump is a blowhard. Trump is a narcissist. Trump is a salesman, nothing he says is to be believed. He will say anything to make the sale, and delivering on promises is not a concern. Trump's confidence game is absolutely American, the art of the 'con', such as Mark Twain describes in Huck Finn. The Duke and the Dauphin fool people, they separate them from their money in one deceit after another. Yet, he is the best of the Republicans. Canadian Cruz is the worst. 

Now, many of Trump's fervent supporters are mad louts. Hey, these were Sarah Palin's supporters too. A genteel soul would not want to be around one of them when they're liquored up.

The 'vast right wing conspiracy' that Hillary Clinton warned us about, over twenty years ago, created this situation. They are vicious and shameless. They stole elections and put in gwbushjr, who must not be named now. Previously, Newton Gingrich created the evil attitude of only obstructionism or ruthlessness in Congress by Republicans. The false piety as political power was Jerry Falwell's work. Reagan removed the fairness doctrine and mouthfoamers on radio, such as the ilk of Limbaugh, and the machinations of Murdoch and Ailes created the propaganda cesspool of a major television network to manipulate entertainment with false news to create a brainwashed and ardent audience susceptible to ever increasing black propaganda. Many other similar characters added to the sludge. And now the party establishment, "the powers that be", are in a tizzy about the Donald. To-morrow, Willard Romney will speak.
