Orange Caligula is having a birthday party for himself on the front lawn of the White House.  A crass show of brutal fighting, which he and his cronies will profit upon.  He has made the country a sh*t show.  It will almost be 250 years since the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence.  People call that holiday the 4th of July, that is a date in the year, but everyone knows what it refers to.  Orange Caligula has stolen that holiday for his birthday.

 Well, Bruce had a concert, Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour, last night in Cleveland.  Did not see much of any coverage [free advertising] on teevee 'news'.  Way too often, much bally-hoo is given to 'country' music people, who i am not familiar with*.  Now, i did read in the plejn djilar a couple good articles on Bruce.  Bruce is an artist, a musician, poet, Christian, and patriot.  A lot of the other mentioned performers like to be billed as such.  Here is the double standard.  The powers that be object to talented people having certain publicly announced thoughts that point to inequities, and wrongs, and want a better society.  Their media pressure, and spokesmen criticise these folk as if they transgressed bounds by exercising free speech, but these hypocrites lionise reagan & *rump, who were not top talent, and came to power to push the agenda of economic royalists.  Springsteen does good for America by speaking up.  By contrast, Michael Jordan is accepted; supposedly he was asked why doesn't he speak up?  His answer was "Republicans buy shoes too".  What is the lesson mandated?  Empathy, integrity, solidarity, democracy — bad; unfettered capitalism, selfish behaviour — good.

Patriots gathered across the land in town squares, and along thoroughfares.  

The weather varies across the continent.  In the northeast corner of Ohio, the morning was at or below freezing, with a trace of small snowflakes drifting through occasionally.

Trump is evil a priori, and that evil creates more evil.

George Santayana had similar thoughts:

Again, statements must be aired.

America is now not among the free lands of democracy, yet some people intend to return it so.

Humor helps, the Devil does not like to be mocked. He must be mocked, and ridiculed.

As Professor Timothy Snyder says, "Protest brings joy. It feels good to be active and to be with other people. It dispels the loneliness we might experience when we are alone or online. When we realize that we are with millions of others, we feel we can make a difference, because we are making a difference: in the world, and in ourselves."

Fixation

The unfortunate word of the day/year is — Fixation. I read an essay the other day in the plejn djilar. The writer mentioned Orange Caligula. He was right, it goes a long way to explain him, his voters, and his wretched party. His party has always banked on, and encouraged fixations. The journalistic patois speaks of wedge issues, and one issue voters. Corral them on that one thing, and they are yours on everything. That explains the gun nuts, and the abortion nuts. Of course the biggest one is race. Biology tells us race does not exist, but socially it does, and it therefore can be used politically.  

Fixations can be mental, and psychological problems. Racism is a form of insanity. Trumple-thin-skin is cruel, evil, demented, insane, and unshakably fixated on many, many things, and he is stupid. And on this America is governed.

That Liberty Valley sign is a fraud. There is no Liberty Valley, the sign (i did not touch) is some paper product. If one uses the internet, one finds that the organisation calls itself a 'Bible believing church', that is an alias for Baptist, and a directed insult to other churches; hey, that is pro-forma for Baptists.

 

Online it is mentioned that the leader has a radio programme where he is quite political. Take a look at the foto: half mast, upside down colonial flag, Gadsden/rattlesnake/teabagger flag, half mast US flag, POW/MIA flag (last known Viet Nam War POW was in 1979). Israeli flag. Then in the middle of this is a tribute to the dead fascist, Charlie Kirk. Who is implied as the co-equal of God.  This is christian nationalism, not Christianity. 

Hadn't passed this in a while.  For years there was a dinosaur, and a caveman couple.  That sign was falling apart; so, now a Colleen Rafferty (SatNitLiv) sign.  The message board to the right has been blank for a time, it used to have insane political cartoons.  There is not so much truth as fiction there.

No Kings — Parma II, tyranny not welcome

First of all *rump and his boot lickers lie profusely.  They project their behaviour, and there animus onto those they oppose. They want to win the definition of terms, and the media always presents their deceitful words verbatim. These fotos were taken to-day in Parma of Ohio. Now, Parma is the seventh most populous city in Ohio, and it is the largest suburb of Cleveland. This was only one of several easy distance drive in northeast Ohio. The lies of the regime are these are violent, and un-American people. What anyone who came there could see, are people in a jovial mood. They are friendly. They have good humour. They are contradicting the liars, and mocking the Devil. This First Amendment Assembly of Patriots was scheduled from 10am to 1pm. We got there before 10.15, and the sidewalks on both sides of Ridgewood were filled with hundreds of sign carrying, and some costumed determined Americans of good cheer. The number was slightly less than the previous No Kings event, perhaps there were more locations this time?

I have repeated this many times, “The Devil doesn't like to be mocked, therefore, he must be mocked”.  This is non-violent (peaceful) protest. It stings and offends tyrants, fascists, the powers that be, police, bullies, goons, and other “authoritarians”, and Repukes.

The world sees this and laughs at *rump. I do not know if this has been seen on teevee newscasts, it has been shown by comics. Television comedians (especially Colbert, Kimmel, and the troupe on the Daily Show) have presented the truth that straight newscasts will not show. The straight newscasts will broadcast the lies told by *rump and his minions complete, but the television jesters will broadcast reality. 

Orange Caligula surrounded by his toadies & media has said war ravaged Portland, a city without stores, or stores with wood instead of glass windows, a city without sewers, and inanities easily disproved by camera. The callow, feckless, cowards about him do not contradict him. Fox and other fascist teevee show film from other protests, some from other countries, and *rump says he has seen what is going on now in Portland, Chicago, and everywhere else that votes for Democrats.

Why this first frogman will become an icon is he resembles so many before him:  the man with plastic bags holding up a line of tanks in the Chinese capital, the young man who placed carnations inside M14 rifles held by soldiers, the young woman with a daisy in front of a line of national guard with bayoneted rifles. Those with power look ridiculous. The Portland Frogs carry no weapons, *rump's stormtroopers have gas masks, bulletproof armor, helmets, and other paraphernalia.

Local teevee has shown live fascism in Portland on film [CLICK].  A female clarinetist is pummeled, breaking her instrument while she plays with her group the Ghostbusters' theme.  Peaceful protestors will be randomly attacked and abducted and sent out of state, because a few years ago people in the city protested the murder of George Floyd.

This wee essay began with the title “conservative = fascist”.  That was before Portland.  Still it is true, and all the language (the propaganda) the Repukes (*rump in chief) substitute false words for reality.  In America the word conservative is the false substitute for fascist.

postscriptum:  Peaceful protestors always face some danger. Seth Todd, the original Portland Frog, has been doing this nightly. Cops/goons can always be petty, vindictive, and violent at any moment. On October 2nd, one such goon pepper sprayed his air vent hole. 

A part of this militarisation of the streets is to provoke people into action that trumpsters will use to justify more severe measures, and brutality [you may say my words are inflated invective, but compare that to what *rump and his minions say], and give excuse to call for martial law, and cancel elections. Stephen Miller has put these thoughts into *rump's head. *rump and Hegseth want these civil excursions to be training exercises for the Department of War, and they still demand a Nobel Peace Prize.  So yeah, there may be killing to come.  The invasion of the Capitol on 6 January 2025 was a prelude.

The day after Sunday's chalkings in the rain. This one was not there Saturday. I think the orange letters faded from washing may have read "I loved Liberty". There were not many Sunday chalkings.

The Lebanese Garden has had a cement pole up for months, it has become the trunk of a cedar. Cedars are the national symbol of Lebanon, glance on their flag and you see.

A nazi was shot by an American*, for the first time since 1967☨. Charlie Kirk was a fascist, an American nazi. The same day he was shot, two school kids in Colorado were shot by a classmate, who then committed suicide. Kirk would not have cared, as he did not care when so many have been killed before. He was responding to a question about mass shootings when he was hit. As is typical with Republicans, he answered a sincere question with a dismissive/snarky question. He was a second amendment absolutist. Bullet ridden school children, church attendees, shoppers in grocery stores....he did not believe in empathy. He was an "evangelical" who had no faith in the actual, historical Jesus. All those death by guns were acceptable. It was additional poetic irony that he was shot in an "open carry" state.

He also believed there was no limit to speech, no limit to hateful and dishonest speech (at least the kind he spewed). He was a zealot, and missionary for hate and false speech. Naturally he rallied people to *rump. So let us think he would remain consistent, and not think of him as a possible hypocrite (as many who mourned him are). And it would be hypocritical for him to have objected if someone would have unpleasant words, or feelings concerning his death. But immediately other American fascists were making of him their Horst Wessel, and calling for vengeance. None of these had a word of sorrow for Melissa Hortman, her husband, and their dog when they were all shot dead, and for John Hoffman and his wife, both survived being shot by the same politically conservative (read: fascist) evangelical.

postscriptum: 1pm, 13 September:  *Tyler James Robinson 22 was the shooter. He comes from a Republican Mormon family.      (the following is a version of the timeline) His father recognised him from the news foto. Father told a youth pastor who works with US Marshalls. Then the sheriff's office was called.

postscriptum: 2.30pm, 13 September:   A local councilman was "cancelled" for his personal & truthful opinion. He has been forced to resign. The state & local Republican Party is gloating. No one has first amendment rights who speaks ill of the *rump regime, or their confederates. Kilbane was right. Many have already suffered retaliation for not bowing to Kirk & *rump. It has to be remembered that Kirk insisted he had the right to say anything to anybody. If the first amendment is revised for these times it would say that fascist speech is free, and everyone must hear it. Other speech is prohibited, and illegal, and is punishable.

Republican deluge

 

When you tell the truth, Republicans become enraged, and vicious. Adam Zyglis drew a cartoon depicting reality, and the consequences of Republican propaganda, and rule.  He, and his family have been threatened, and office holding Republicans are in an uproar. That bubble quote, is from Ronnie Reagan. He is the point when and where America started to go downhill. Reaganistas begat the busheviks, the busheviks begat the trumpsters. Ronnie had dementia, and far sooner than people would like to admit. gwbjr & Don-the-Con were rich, stupid, and spoiled children, who got away with everything. They were failures, who were constantly protected from consequences. After each idiot regime America was a worse place. All three regimes tried to control the message given to Americans, the rest of the world never believed the lies.

 

Guadalupe has flooded Kerr County in the past: 1869, 1900, 1932, 1936, 1959, 1978, 1987, 2002. The floods would happen, but preparation could have reduced casualties, and damage; but that was not good for business and the party. Do not build in flood plains, the government has accurate maps. 

 

Climate change has altered the weather, and the consequences are increased intensity of phenomena. But climate change is not a subject that the oil industry,  moneyed interests, and the Republican Party allow to be discussed. Scientific study and evidence is either ignored, or attacked. Those who engage in such activities, and honest reporting of such are vilified, threatened, and have their jobs disappear. Trump wants FEMA* to disappear, gwbjr. & #rump put idiots in charge.

 

There are government agencies that do work to help. They are attacked, especially by the current federal regime. Texas government does so likewise. Texas government has been an affront to humanity for three decades. There is no delay in having money to put razor wire in the Rio Grande, but money for warning sirens (when available) is not used. We know the bad actors in this, but they have power, so they are not allowed to be shown up, and they are eager to attack.

 

Then their crocodile tears hypocrisy immediately appear. "It is not the time to politicise the tragedy", after they have long, and continuously politicised the grounds and environments that cause tragedies. "Thoughts & prayers" they call for.  Adequate preventative action was needed, and future action is needed. How many thoughts and prayers fit in the back of a hearse?   — Ω ☨

Coffee is going to cost

When i was child, and went to the food market with my father, some places had coffee:  Italian roast, French roast, Viennese roast, German roast, and American roast. Eventually the last two were combined as American roast. Now, there are so many, and are vaguely differentiated. I read some books written by reporters. Charles Kuralt mentioned that the further west one went in America, the weaker the coffee became. I think Garrison Keillor said in a sketch, that the mid-West was the land of weak coffee. There was Turkish coffee too, i thought it was strong coffee with the grounds in the cup; but now i read it was roast so dark that it looked like charcoal.

Orange Caligula wants a 50% tariff on Brasil, because the former president is on trial for attempting to overthrow the government. Bolsonaro was in *rump's mold, he was a dictator, and a putschist. After *rump failed in a coup; Bolsonaro did too. But unlike *rump, he is on trial for it. This makes *rump livid, and being a power mad sadist, he wants to attack and punish people.

The United States is now under a fascist regime. Der Führer (leader) is quite insane. How did this catastrophe befall on the world? There are two reasons: Firstly institutional; the Republican Party, and moneyed interests are increasingly conservative [fascist]. That party is a criminal cult. There are two major sections of the press/media: the corporate [moneyed interests], and the propaganda right wing [moneyed interests, and the extremely fanatically disturbed] press/media. These have accelerated, and the fantastical outrages increase in magnitude and frequency. A large number are crazier than outhouse rats, and have been so for decades. One evilton was Joe McCarthy, another living evilton is Newt Gingrich.  There are many in the Republican Congress that are stupid, and psychotic; and they represent parts of the country that will accept any hateful buffoon. Orange Caligula is demented, stupid, vicious, cowardly; he is a malignant narcissist. He is an incurable psychopath. *rump is of the Devil.

Secondly popular; there is a large segment of the population that has accepted the decades of propaganda. Those who voted for *rump, and his party have sinned a great sin. As with *rump, they are motivated by greed and hate, primarily hate.

One must remember, *rump began his 2015 campaign with a crazed anti-Mexican speech. Now he has expanded government agencies into a personal Gestapo. Republicans, and his idiot minions are good with that [well until it hits them]. And that and a nickel will not get you coffee.

Do "Bible believers" really believe?

Some Americans loudly claim they are "Bible believing christians".

Many of the same vote reflexively, some fervently, for Republicans.

The logic of the syllogism does not hold. The two premises do not agree.

Now, Jesus was a logician, "No man can serve two masters".

There is a great incongruity. Those who claim to be both Bible believers and Republicans are being false. They are liars. The true conclusion of the syllogism would be:  Bible believing christians are not voting for Republicans.
