Devil's protégé

The Devil called down to Georgia
He was lookin' for votes to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was way behind

"My people will take the streets, burn this country to the ground! It will be yuuge! The best riots anyone has ever seen!"
Seriously, anyone who supports trump has gravely compromised their soul.

he leads you to Hell

What do we know about the demonic adversary? What has the Bible, and theology taught us about the Devil?

  • He is the father of lies, and false promises. — ☑
  • He looks to corrupt souls, and he enjoys their ruin, and condemnation to perdition. — ☑

trump is an idiot, and he has escaped all punishment. How can someone so ignorant, and so evil, have been successful for so long?

I have maintained, he is under special protection of the Devil.

There are no both sides about it, there is no but what about …

Admit it! Have your acquaintances admit it. You have been fooled, you have been played.

more than time for a vent

Axiom: the stupids abuse freedom of speech.

I have not listed a diatribe, vent, or rant in a while. I forgot which term i used as a label, i used all three. At best stupid is entertaining by accident, usually it is annoying; but this country is awash of the stupids, and their unending stupidity.

In July, the earth has recorded its hottest days in succession. Canadian forests are burning, Greece is burning. Idiots are going to Death Valley to get a picture of themselves standing next to the temperature sign at 130°F.  I read a note in the press that one idiot died.

Climate change is real, but the moneyed interests have been denying it, and the stupids believe them. Now, things have hit the US several times each day to show the weather is not in normal, or freak variability. The mainstream (read: established corporate) media now speaks of climate change as an accepted reality, but local teevee weathermen do get harassed.  So, what do we here on local northeast Ohio broadcasts? Whining of the dearth of 90° days this summer. First, we haven't had any, then we have had only one. There are world wide examples right now of the heat disasters, and these idjits are lamenting the dearth of heat. They work in air-conditioned studios, drive in air-conditioned automobiles. live in air-conditioned homes. In winter will these dunderheads complain with, "we haven't any below 0°F days".

Now, a more serious vent:  the fascists are upset that they do not have absolute control of public speech. Newspapers, radio, and television are businesses. Businesses are moneyed interests. A priori they are slanted towards economic interests, and the political party of the XXth century that stood for this was the Republicans. If people followed those endorsements Franklin Roosevelt would not have been president. The New Deal made America a far better place. The Republicans were not pleased, and they have continuously tried to rescind  everything about it.

Now, most journalists of the mainstream media try to hew to journalistic standards and ethics. As Stephen Colbert has said, "reality has a liberal bias". So, the disgruntled fascist capitalists have created their own propaganda organs to counter that. And their minions constantly bitch and attack. They and Republicans insist lying is the proper exercise of the first amendment. Also, many are anti-social louts with vicious, and violent proclivities all of which they want others to hear. Social media is their playground, and they want control of the turf.
Twitter is a 'micro-blogging' form of social media. They had some standards in which some false information, pornography, hate speech was prohibited. Now that upset many fascists and their fellow travellers. So they set up their imitation twitters, but that was not enough. Normal people did not frequent their reich wing imitations. They want to shove their crap down everyone's gullet. So, one of their number bought Twitter and proceeded to recreate it in his image. So, Twitter is dying. And by the way, elon musk, ron desantis, and donald trump are horrid individuals.

In Florida history classes it is now decreed that it must be taught that slavery was beneficial. Republican controlled states have created laws to police, curb, and censor professors—so that 'conservative' ideas are protected, and free speech of fascists must not be restricted on campus. [see postscript]
This weekend past, two big movies opened at the picture show. They are being called 'Barbieheimer'. Occasionally, i look to see what movies are coming months, even years in advance. I was right away interested in Oppenheimer.  I was not interested in Barbie.  Oppenheimer is a serious character in history, and science. Barbie is a dolly.

Margot Robbie is a good actress. It looked like this might have been a big budget picture, didn't care. I remember seeing the dollies in childhood, and the ones i saw were abused. Their hair was cut, or pulled out; limbs missing, and other damage, and usually without clothes. I did not live around genteel children.

Well, now the mouthfoaming repukes are upset. From what i gather about the flick, is that in Barbie's toy world, everything is about Barbie, and Ken is just hanging around mostly purposeless. Then Barbie goes to the real world, and things are not that way. Ok, sounds like a regular children's story. No, they have a problem with feminism. Y'no, i was a boy. I had no interest in what play fantasies, and adventures girls had playing with their dollies. Maybe, these clowns should look in their pantalones and see if they look like Ken.

O, and now i read the conservative/fascist ruling party in India has a problem with Oppenheimer. Apparently, there is a scene where he is with his mistress and quotes Vishnu. This from the land of the Kama Sutra, and temples with flagrant sexual sculptures.

postscriptum 10.48 a.m. 25 July 2023.  Of course Texas is real big with fascism. [click]  from the article, before it is removed from the internet:
Texas A&M suspends professor accused of criticizing Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in lecture
Joy Alonzo, a respected opioid expert, was in a panic.
The Texas A&M University professor had just returned home from giving a routine lecture on the opioid crisis at the University of Texas Medical Branch when she learned a student had accused her of disparaging Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick during the talk.
In the few hours it took to drive from Galveston, the complaint had made its way to her supervisors, and Alonzo’s job was suddenly at risk.

like scoring in quidditch

For those who suffer from abortion monomania [click], the mental arithmetic is like scoring in quidditch. There is a universe of issues. In Catholic theology there are many moral, ethical, and justice issues. Some come into contact with the secular political world. Abortion is one such.

J.K. Rowling, invented, and inserted into her Harry Potter novels the wizardly game of quidditch. In that game, each team defends three goals. If an opponent puts the ball through a goal it scores ten points. There is another ball, a small feathered ball, the golden snitch. Catching the ball is worth 150 points, and ends the game.  It is virtually impossible to gain the snitch, and lose. That is the design of the invented game. In her stories only once did the catcher of that ball lose the game.

Scoring all the goals is not of prime importance:  e.g. the situation when one team has scored 14 goals, and the other team has not scored one, nor does not even attempt to score a goal, so that the score is 140 to 0, which in some other games would have triggered a mercy rule to end the game, so as to avoid the ridiculous lopsided victory, would not come into play here. That captured snitch would make the score 140 to 150, and the clock would have ended.

In stated, official American Catholic bishops' rationale in voting, abortion is very important in consideration  to support a candidate; but there are circumstances of great importance where that position is not decisive. Ultra conservative Catholic bishops, and their flocks are playing philosophical quidditch, and they start with the possession of the snitch in their pocket.

Evangelical Witness

People of certain religious persuasions have their own parallel language. It is not terminology of specifics that do not exist elsewhere. No, it is the same words with different meanings. I read an article about Trump's effect on the evangelicals. He created a disruptive wave among them. This writer says it is lingering, but over all they are as they were. The one area where it has caused a problem is in "witnessing".

When certain Protestants use the word "witness", or "witnessing" they are using internal code. Witness in standard speech refers to attesting to fact as in testimony, evidence, proof, knowledge from being present, and the like. They mean proselytising. They want to recruit converts. To many this is not wanted, it is uncomfortable, irritating, sometimes insulting, especially when it is intrusive, or aggressive.

Outside of religious services, this is the most religious activity they engage in. This activity is verbal, almost exclusively. One does not have to behave as a Christian (they find good works meaningless, faith is expressed in words), one hectors. Many see this as an aspect of conspicuous hypocrisy.

So why is witnessing in the age of Trump more difficult? This is the elephant in the room that is not mentioned, but fully acknowledged silently—credibility. White evangelicals were [and are] so allied with Trump. It was noticed with disgust by the world, because Trump has no positive attributes in common with good Christian living, morality, or ethics. The only thing that is shared is hypocrisy, and unnecessary verbiage. Trump is first, and most of all—a liar. He is a psychopath. This bears a  permanent stain of shame.

grievance culture

A grievance is a complaint, often at a perceived unfairness or injustice. Sometimes they are justified. But crying for justice is not always appreciated. Some grievances are false. Some people are not interested at hearing any grievance (outside of their own). In slightly coarser language, complaining is called bitching, which is so applied to downgrade the process of any complaint. Truly there are people have suffered great harm and distress, and truly there are people who claim such for every instance of their displeasure over even the slightest matter.

In a non-genteel occupation i labored in, which is rife with gossip, one fellow complained so often he was nicknamed Bitch; later his son joined the same labor force, and was christened Son of Bitch. Years later, when they were no longer working, and not seen, they were still recalled; and their tale was spread to new workers.

This year was a very angry year in this country. The chief subject was race. Lyndon Johnson did say,If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.”  He was right then, and is still right. Bernie Sanders, who is class conscious, ran in 2016 and this year always gives economic arguments. It is true, that the wealthy, obscenely wealthy bank on race to camouflage their mercenary greed. To divide and thus conquer the population over racial antagonisms has been a sure winner. Trump was the champion of white grievance.

The chief beneficiary of race hatred to gain political office in this country has been Donald Trump. He began his public 2016 campaign with hatred of Mexican migrants, and he never relented. He began the private campaign in response to Barack Obama, a man of color. Now and always, Donald is a wretched soul. Opposition to Obama was immediate. Soon tea-baggers formed, financed by rich Republican interests, and Fox News [sic]. This ersatz 'populism' appealed sotte voce to racists, and also screaming racial hatred directed at Obama, his wife, and others. With Trump the white racists found their standard bearer, and the grifter Trump would sell standards for them to bear.

Trump was born a rich man, and failed at everything, but being the son of a rich man failure became a success. If we were to put Donnie on the couch, he might remember his first grievance was he was not breast fed enough, if at all. That baby crankiness enveloped him to a mental sickness [krankheit]. Look at him in film, and fotos. He looks the opposite of happy. His smiles are always posed frozenly, and never come to him naturally. His humour exists only in mean-spiritness. He has a near permanent, fish pout.

Trump projects continuously. In April, in Concord N. Hamp., he again told the Scalise (the congressman, not the mobster) story. Scalise was shot, and his wife cried; Trump says a lot of wives wouldn't (his three). Also, for years he has told the snake story, Foolish woman, you knew i was a snake when you took me in.. Trump always talks about himself.

White people, and black people have grievances. Some of both think there are only two people: me, and the other person of the other race. Because you have a grievance, it was not caused by society favoring the other guy against you in every situation. America has angry white people, and angry black people who resent each other. Sometimes it is a turf war (and it should be acknowledged, when a formerly white neighbourhood becomes a black neighbourhood, the white people left behind are often targets of hooliganism, and crime; and this is never described as racially motivated). Other times it are the economic interests manipulating, and playing with people's lives. First look at the numbers. There are many more whites than blacks. Every white man is not set back by advantage to a black man, there are not that many black men. Also, because there are so many white men in spots, not all of them are there because a black man was cheated; there are not that many black men to be cheated.

“...Who renderest the iniquity of the fathers to the children, and to the grandchildren unto the third and fourth generation.” — Exodus 34. vii.
“...who visitest the sins of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.” — Numbers 14. xviii.
“The past is never dead. It's not even past.” ― William Faulkner, Requiem for a Nun

Systemic racism exists. Some white people object to the term, and the idea. The effects of history last far longer than those who propelled them. A hundred years is not much time in history, history lingers. The chief event in American history is the war fought between 1861 and 1865. All those alive then, are dead now. Many in America to-day are not descendants from those in America at the time. That war was fought over black chattel slavery, and yet some people lie about it. The losing side, as Faulkner pointed out, was defeated but unvanquished. The social antagonisms, and classism did not stop. It still exists. Why are people publicly lamenting the confederate war banner? and confederate statues? The Germans do not fly nazi flags, and there are no nazi statues in Germany. Now, some white people resent this, and some black people are permanently angry. There is no collective guilt for future generations. There are lingering effects.

Black Lives Matter is a response to police brutality. Police in America are often given extreme latitude, often to the point of carte blanche. The black population, especially, feels like a captive population. Police have freely killed black people often enough, and without penalty. It is perfectly expected for black people to be upset. The examples of their lives being treated as something without any value is too frequent. One of the cliches, that are so often recited, is that nothing is worth more than a human life. It is not true in America. To this openly, obvious reality the police and their supporters go ballistic. Of course the use of ballistics is part of the problem. Police accept no reproach, and fiercely bristle with anger over criticism. Blue Lives Matter is a nonsense slogan. Black people did not say other lives do not matter, but many people do not value black life. Further, police have created a fiction, in which they are warriors preserving society. And when anger spills into rioting, many people damn the rioters while ignoring the reasons for anger. Police aggression is then positively viewed. Also the slogan “defund the police” was self defeating. Police are a political power in cities, and politicians (especially Republicans) love to use their support, and this year they were part of their campaign language. In Cleveland the police union president, Steve Loomis, in 2016, and later when he was out of office was himself an organiser of Trump events. Loomis is one of 2020's Trump electors.

White privilege is a stupid, and self defeating term. It is not a privilege to be white. Being white is not an extra gift: it even suggests that not being white is existentially inferior, and that truly black lives do not matter. It is often an advantage in America to be white. All white people are not privileged, many suffer the problems other people have. There is a privileged and favored class, and that status is primarily based on wealth. Using the term, white privilege, is meant to be provocative, and is counter productive. When making a plea for justice, to attack people with accusation, and condemnation when they are not those who are your enemies is asinine.

And there are people who use the complaint of political correctness, as a term for censorship. They are upset of being socially not accepted for saying often rude things. There is also times when the powers in charge do not want to hear views, and they have the situational power to keep people silent. Some of those views silenced are considered politically liberal. Other terms in this realm are call out culture, and cancel culture. And then it also goes for noting lewd behaviour, e.g. slut shaming. Not all grievances carry the same weight, or importance.

diatribe № 2

Getting in touch with my inner geezer

I was young once, and was foolish with many hopes and some ambition. The world has battered, buffeted, beaten, and bruised me. In the film 'Breaking Away' (written by Steve Tesich) Dennis Quaid says, "...I'm just gonna be Mike; twenty year-old Mike; thirty year-old Mike; old, mean old man Mike...". The shadow of that realisation has lived with me for years.

So the world has whizzed past me. Romeo said, "O, I am Fortune’s fool!". But Romeo was a kid, he never lived a life seeing one generation of idiots passing another. We live in disappointment. Now i see younger people come to the line, and i am less hopeful. It is not just fashion as a change, a difference; it is a choice, or several choices, which indicate depth of reason has become shallower.

The geezer awakens.

diatribe № 1

“Advertising is a racket, like the movies and the brokerage business. You cannot be honest without admitting that its constructive contribution to humanity is exactly minus zero.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald

I am not the only one. I am against the death penalty, i am nearly a pacifist; but certain exceptions pass across my mind.

GMC pickup truck commercial has annoying noise that would be background theme 'music', this has become common, and happens during a local 'newscast', as an outro after the 'tease' before a commercial break, and as an intro. That is bad enough, but the most annoying bullshit is one about baseball calling a pitcher 'a Rembrandt'—absolute bullshit. This insults art aficionados, baseball fans, and people with respect for any of the language arts.

Television shows used to have censors who concerned themselves with risqué elements. There should be an office for one concerning mendacity and bullshit, but this the United States where lies are to be respected as if they were not lies. But that might begin an avalanche, to-day lying shysters who defame the language, and then an eventual to-morrow where 'Fox' must disappear.

Please allow for a marked decrease in sales for GMC. And the Matthew McConaughey commercials for Lincoln, well that too. “It’s not about huggin’ trees. It’s not about bein’ wasteful, either. Just gotta find that balance. Where taking care of yourself takes care of more than just yourself. That’s the sweet spot.”. Bullshit.

vent Numero dos

Calgary Cruz (Repuke representing Tejas in the US Senate) was some sort of debating champion, and a professor of law of supreme court litigation. Yet in his grandstanding faux filibuster he reads Green Eggs and Ham, which destroys his entire argument, one hundred percent. Every comedian in the country saw this. The main character hates something he has never tried, and after continuous nagging he tries it, and then likes it. A Democratic senator, Claire McCaskill, demurringly representing herself as a simple Missourian said, “I thought it was interesting that Ted Cruz used Green Eggs and Ham. I went to the University of Missouri, I did not go to Harvard, but I’ll tell you that my daughter texted me this morning and said ‘Mom, does he not know the point of the story?’ Its that you cant knock things until you try it.” Still they hate “Obamacare”. Why is it that every Republican genius believes everything that every Republican idiot believes? To quote another Missourian, Harry Truman, “Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a Republican. But I repeat myself.” The foreign born Cruz is running for president in 2016, while in his first term in the senate. The American born Obama was criticised for the same thing, but there are different rules for the two parties.

_______________________________

Now, Texas has the second largest delegation in Congress. The newbie Cruz is a horror, the other senator John Cornyn is a cruel monster. The House side has thirty six members, aided by extensive gerrymandering to produce twenty-four Repukes. By watching the news, one easily sees these seven are despicable:
  •     1st — Rep. Louie Gohmert Jr. [R]
  •     5th — Rep. Jeb Hensarling [R]
  •     6th — Rep. Joe Barton [R]
  •     19th — Rep. Randy Neugebauer [R]
  •     27th — Rep. Blake Farenthold [R]
  •     32nd — Rep. Pete Sessions [R]
  •     36th — Rep. Steve Stockman [R]
Now Georgia has a higher percentage of contemptible jerks. They have fourteen house members, nine are Repukes, with these four being prominent jerks, three are running for senate:
  •     1st — Rep. Jack Kingston [R]
  •     3rd — Rep. Lynn Westmoreland [R]
  •     10th — Rep. Paul Broun Jr. [R]
  •     11th — Rep. Phil Gingrey [R]
These reprobates share in an intense combination of self-entitled insanity, stupidity, dishonesty, and viciousness. This may not be a complete list of legislative scum for these confederate states; but all of these individuals have been glaringly asinine (that really unnecessarily insults the fine animal) at some time.
Most recently, Sessions said to the President of the United States, I cannot even stand to look at you. This is the sort of racist eagle scout Texas produces. Who is this repuke? His father headed the FBI. Sessions received money from connections with the felons Jack Abramoff, and Allen Stanford. His party has made him chairman of the House Rules Committee, and in 2010 chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Joe Barton is a Repuke who represents the petroleum companies, in Congress he kissed British Petroleums Tony Haywards ass (even to Haywards discomfort) and attacked the President. Barton is an extreme protector of economic royalists. He is also a Texas Aggie (along with Gohmert, and Hensarling) a school stereotypical for stupid.

Blake Farenthold recently would not admit that the President was born in America, and had won two presidential elections. Louie Gohmert is widely considered to be the stupidest member of Congress, and is always willing to be an idiot on camera.

Look for the future comments these yahoos make. It would be hard to believe they will be reticent.

then i thought, you know i have to put up with a lot of idiocy.  a poor man does not have much in america. there is a constant attack on one's dignity. exercise your natural right to speak, and you will be punished by those whom exercise power.

this instrument here, allows me an avenue to speak. incredibly few will find this, yet this is a record. i shall "vent", or is that continue to vent.  i will piss off the fascists, good they should be pissed off, and powerless to do anything about it; for we see the evil that fascists do when the opportunity exists. and by 'fascist', in america we mean 'republican' or 'repuke'. no person of intellectual discernment, and humanity can be one. it is possible to be ignorant and have some humanity and support repukes, but professional repukes are fascists pure and simple.
