into the Italian Garden

Cleveland Reddit: 4.45pm Thursday vehicle 60mph went into Italian Garden. Fire, EMS showed up, police absent.  

This Saturday morning we were walking our hound. The matching column is rubble, small pieces of vehicle there. Made it most of the way to the fountain.

You know the vehicle was on East Boulevard, the upper one of the two avenues of Rockefeller Park and the Cultural Gardens. The lower boulevard (its original name) is MLK Jr Blvd., it is all park/gardens from the freeway to East 105. It has stoplights by the freeway, and none till 105.  The upper one is all park/garden from where it begins going up from MLK to Superior on its west side, and has some big houses, a school, and park/gardens to Superior, with a stoplight at St. Clair. Both are curvy. They were not built to be raceways. There is much less traffic on East Blvd. MLK is very busy, and runs faster than posted, and is not save to cross even at crosswalks. Several light poles, benches, and signs have been knocked over.
