I had a job where the men were paired up, and some had radios. One fellow had a big speech impediment, and he lived southeast of Ohio. His partner always had him talk on on the
radidio. There were some letters he could not pronounce.
R being one of them. He would introduce himself by his first name, which had an
r. Invariably, people would ask him to say it again; and you would realise that he could not. Sometimes, in conversation, he would say in frustration,
"fuh i'". He could not say the
k or
t sounds. He was a good fellow.
I pass this church frequently, and usually there are spelling mistakes. Sometimes, the same errors are on both sides of the sign.
St. Luke's Lakewood is beginning their 2nd century as a parish. The travelling (plastic/resin) Homeless Jesus is visiting.
