bless the animals

After blessing and spritzing the animals, Pastor James Schmitz of St. Leo's in Old Brooklyn had people do the same to their companions. It is the weekend before the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi [October 4th]. People brought a cat, a turtle, and slightly more than a score of dogs. All the pets were given food treats, and a St. Francis/St. Anthony of Padua medal.
