In a continuing twelve year, public art project on the Chinese calendar, the first of the horses are in place on Cleveland's near east side. Around midday, i went by where nineteen installations had been last year (would have gone by a few more, but road work suggested prudence was in order). I saw five horses up, not any looking ready for Saturday's Belmont.
They were late this year. A smaller herd came from Chicago, and larger animals were needed.
