Conventions moved the needle

P>R>N>D

Sometimes it is good to get in the first word, and sometimes the last. Sometimes one brilliant passage, or speech settles it.

These national political conventions want the last speech, the one from the nominee to be the firework finale. Clinton Eastwood rained so much at the Republican convention as to dampen in sodded wetness the attempt of Romney. William Clinton's verbal show amidst the Democracy was of such smoothness and breadth, that it was not going to be surpassed, and satiated the audience.

If this was college football, quarterback Eastwood intentionally grounded a forward pass in his own endzone; whilst Clinton's possession was six runs culminating in a touchdown. Team Democracy up nine points. Bill Clinton may have given his best speech ever, at least situationally. It felt as the game was effectively over. I was surprised to read, that, a former Romney employee, a Spanish surnamed party shill whom is often on cable, said the same.

Clinton has spoke at seven consecutive conventions. Wednesday's speech was 48 minutes, and the crowd did not tire. He could have spoken longer, and he has. In 1988, he spoke for some 32 minutes; and it went on way too long. He was mocked. He went onto the Johnny Carson show, played the saxophone and recovered.

Not all was broadcast, but excellent speeches were said by Elizabeth Warren, Sr. Simone Campbell, Michelle Obama, John Lewis
, and John Kerry. The President was effective enough in his talk.
