Akron Zoo, with dinosaurs again

Akron Zoo has three baby dinosaur puppets. This one is Ducky, he is about to get a syringe of medicine. The group is performing for children.

Birds are now considered a surviving branch of dinosaurs.

Outside the main entrance this year is a triceratops. 

Helios Project

Larry & Francine Johns gifted educational models and informative signs on the universe to Medina Ohio. The Helios Project opened to the public mid August 2023. It begins with a chrome like (possibly polished stainless steel sphere) covered sun, with twelve culture graphics of the sun around it. I've been told not to look at the sun, this one was safe to be photographed.

Aztec

Saturn, the planets are scaled in size to the sun. The terrestrial planets are near marble sized, and Pluto is included. Some deterioration has occurred, Mercury's bead is gone, and a few stickers were added on some signs, and removed, leaving behind bits of strips, the Milky Way spiral is gone.

The path is about Champion Creek, and part of it is like a clean alley.  Some of it comes up to railway tracks, some of it is between new apartment buildings, some of it passes electrical installations.  Some streets, and bridges are crossed.  It was a very pleasant midday walk with the hounds through the universe.

Deer were visible throughout the walk.

The path for walking with or without doggy companions, and a path for the iron horse.

The path empties out to a residential street where a tin man monitors traffic.

2026 Miscellany #4

A tom turkey failing to impress hens at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland.

A znamenja [sign, symbol] shrine at Saint Vitus Cleveland.  It will have four paintings, this is the first Marija Pomagaj Brežje.  Mary Help of Christians is the national Madonna of the Slovenes. The others are Bl. Anton Martin Slomšek, Ven. Frederic Baraga (Apostle to the Ojibwe), and a local priest who served two Slovene parishes in Cleveland.

Fire escape, can't think of another on a church.

It was warm on Holy Saturday [April 4]. Man and dog walking in Ukrainian Garden.

Passed this many times, there is a yard of chestnut trees. A buckeye is a horse chestnut.
