from the Halifax Chronicle Herald
Brett Kavanaugh put his hand over a Bible to stop it from screaming, and became a member of the Supreme Court. He got to this point by being a Republican apparatchik, who was involved in political treachery. In his latest Senate job hearings, he perjured [lied] himself repeatedly, even to minor points that could be easily shown. His last hearing, he began by shouting, and voicing paranoid political fantasies [“orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons, and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups”], and threatened the Democratic Party. In questioning, he was evasive, combative, and did his utmost to eat the clock. His behaviour, if done in court before a judge, would certainly be cited for contempt. As a Republican Partei loyalist, it is de jure to be contemptuous of democracy and justice.
Senator Dick Durbin called Kavanaugh the “Forrest Gump of Republican politics”, when gwbjr nominated him for judge in 2003. Kavanaugh had worked for Ken Starr, he spent time and money with conspiracy theories that ince Foster did not commit suicide. As shrapnel, Foster's family suffered, Kavanaugh did not care. Also with Starr he investigated the Clintons, including being a chief writer for the Starr Report. In 2000, Kavanaugh helped steal the Florida election for gwbjr. He then was involved inside the White House, and the paperwork has not been released.
The questioning was interested in the initial hearings. Several of the Democratic senators tried to show us what Kavanaugh is, and not what he claims to be. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse asked Kavanaugh the meaning of the legal maxim, “Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus”. Kavanaugh did not answer, he deferred to Whitehouse. The translation is, “false in one thing, false in all things”. This explains Whitehouse questioning Kavanaugh about the yearbook, in which Kavanaugh repeatedly lied about the slang used.
Then there was a round of questions on Dr. Christine Blasey Ford's accusations of an attempt of rape on her, by Kavanaugh. Kavanuagh was deceptive and lied throughout, about nearly everything but his great fondness for beer. He brought in his calendar of the summer of 1982, and restricted it only to the weekends. When asked about the day of occurrence, he denied and lied. He and his friends did drink on the weekdays, and Christine Blasey was in their common circle of acquaintances. Her father, and his father belonged to the same country club; these people mingled. He was tricky in misdirecting people by lies that went unchallenged. He did not do this to Dr. Ford. He is right in that deception, she was not Dr. Ford THEN, she was Christine Blasey. He said legal drinking age was 18, so what? He was 17, and she was 15. He made statements like Ms. Keyser (friend of Christine Blasey) never saw me at a party with Christine. NO, she said she does not remember seeing the two at a party together. There were several of these tricks and lies.
When asked about something on the calendar, he answered he was busy being an athlete and scholar. He busted his butt to get to Yale, where he had no connections. His grandfather went to Yale. Kavanaugh was a legacy. Later he was asked whether he saw Dr. Ford's testimony. He said, “No”. People were in the room with him while it was broadcast on television.
Christine Blasey Ford testified in a girl's voice. She answered every question, and was being very helpful to the questioners. Kavanaugh did not want to answer any pertinent questions, but rather spin a narrative of his own creation.
Saturday Night Live opened their season with Matt Damon playing Kavanaugh. Damon was more likable and collected than the person he portrayed. ... Now, i am usually an optimist. I'm a keg is half full kind of guy. ...I am not backing down you sons-of-bitches. [sniff, a lot of sniffs] I don't know the meaning of the word "stop". [sniff]...I was the proudest, drunkest virgin you've ever seen...You don't have to compare me to Bill Cosby...but if you think i am angry now, you just wait until i get on that Supreme Court, 'cause then you're all gonna pay...Sir did you ever drink in excess?, if you're asking me if I was cool in high school then the answer is YES!
Then there was a mini FBI investigation, in which, only a few of many witnesses that were available to relate Kavanaugh's boorish, drunken, and criminal behaviour were interviewed. Not one Republican senator voted against his confirmation, and Trump is continuing to act like a grand ass. Trump always supports rich white men accused of sexual assault, after all, he is guilty of the same.
