music on glass

Kyrie eleison (Lord have mercy) St. Mary. Berea, O.
Two great things together: Gregorian chant and stained glass. This sheet music does not fold into the pocket. Melody exists in chant, rythym does not. One syllable can span several notes.

Mr. Mister had a #1 song on the music charts March 1986. Its chorus starts:
Kýrie, eléison, down the road that I must travel...
Remember, the 1980s (in the US, anyway) was the greed was good time. The lyrics, by John Lang, are introspective and spiritual, while music is slick MTV electric rock. Lang sang Kyrie as a child in church (Episcopalian Phoenix). One can read the lyrics as a meditative exercise.
