art on the east side Cleveland

Dragon who believes in Democracy
East 32nd & Payne
Amos Norwood Mini-Park, Cleveland, has a multi-panel mural by Anna Arnold. The first two on the left have two historical figures from Africa. Mansa Musa was the Emperor of Mali, early 14th century. His wealth in gold might surpass the wealth of the centi-billionaires of to-day's America. Hatshepshut was pharo of Egypt 15th century BC.
The next panel is after the icon of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa. The following murals are on American history: slavery, and many portraits of individual Black Americans.
