Medical Library with owls and classical heads
Owls
were sacred to the goddess Athena, and she was the goddess of wisdom.
This is an entrance to the medical library. The heads would be
Hippocrates and Galen. They are not identified, but they are.
Hippocrates (*b.C. 460, 370☨), the father of medicine, was bald. Galen
(*129, after 200☨) was a physician, surgeon, philosopher, and writer.
His texts were studied up to and through the Renaissance.
