Y'no, at college in America, one takes many courses. Certain ideas come up again, and again, in other courses. The education school professors at Ohio University were Deweyists (experiential, discovery learning); out in the world it was the Skinnerians (behaviourists); i was a Thomist with Socratic method [naturally, i was a proponent of a scoffed at minority]. Well, i saw these handy-dandy charts on the tweety by a behaviourist. She [i think it was (Caroline O. (click)] has adeptly described a situation we suffer through. Operant conditioning, no pigeons harmed in this study.
