transient spring color

As i type, it is before noon on Thursday.  It is 77°F, the record high is 80°F, it is expected to be surpassed. A week ago, it snowed. The early blossoms were not open on Monday, yesterday some had already wilted and fallen. Spring weather here can erupt quickly and disappear. Beautiful early blooms can come and go fast. See it now, or yesterday, because that may be it. I have been posting Monday's pictures, these are fotos from yesterday (Wednesday).

These first six pictures are Brookside Metropark's Japanese cherry trees on Wednesday.

The two above are from Monday. The blooms went from small, tight, closed, and pink; to open, fluffy, and white.

People were enjoying this spot.
This magnolia from yesterday just passed the peak color moment, a few petals had already fell.

Rūpintojėlis (the Brooding One), Pensive Christ

Before Rodin sculpted his Le Penseur, this figure of Jesus was carved along the waysides. This is the Lithuanian one. They became more poignant for the nation after the brutal incorporation of the country into Stalin's Russia.

A little early for full bloom, the Ukrainian Garden is across the street from the Greek Garden. WVIZ-25 uses both between programmes as station identification.

noon Monday people came to see daffodils

This year, small signs communicated the cemetery's sentiments in good humour.

Lake View Cemetery promotes visiting, especially to see the daffodils. Mid-day Monday, many came as family groups, and that includes the family dogs.
